Have Your Say: Newham's Parking and Kerbside Space Review Consultation is Now Open

The consultation on Newham’s future parking and kerbside space policy has launched. Here’s why your voice matters - and what you need to know.

Newham Council’s Parking and Kerbside Space Review consultation is live for 12 weeks. This is your chance to shape how our borough manages its streets. Make your voice heard if you care about fair parking, walkable neighbourhoods and public realm quality.

Complete the Survey

Take part here: the council’s Parking and Kerbside Space Review page

The survey takes just a few minutes to complete. It asks residents about their parking experiences, their priorities for how kerbside space should be used, and whether they would support converting parking to other uses like cycle storage, bus stops, trees and green space.

A Note on the Survey Design

Although the survey asks some questions about priorities and trade-offs, it has a built-in bias: it assumes car ownership as the default and frames alternatives to parking as trade-offs rather than independent priorities. This means it may not fully capture what disabled residents, parents, cyclists and public transport users want from their streets.

That’s why your response matters. If you believe Newham should prioritise unobstructed pavements, street safety, cycling infrastructure and green space, your voice needs to be in the data.

How we use kerbside space will shape whether Newham meets its targets for public health, climate and sustainable transport.

Complete the survey and share it with friends and neighbours who care about fair, liveable streets.

Deadline: 12 weeks
